Tangles and Tendrils

I don't suppose that you missed me overmuch... especially since *ahem* only Shanna reads me. I know that she missed me, since she's my best friend and she talks to me several times a week, she told me that she missed me being online. And she already knows what's what in my corner of the world to boot.

However, I've been offline because of... well, several reasons. Some are valid and some are just not, so we'll go with the fact that yonder kidlets have been out of school for Spring Break and I've been busy, doing that whole parenting thing. You know... parenting. That thing that we parents... well... do. Keeps me pretty busy.

I've been reading a lot lately (when I'm not doing that whole parenting schtick, that is). I should blog about it, but ya know, I don't think I will here. I have another blog that I reserve purely for books but I've neglected it terribly, and it's almost embarrassing to return to it at this late date. And yet, I don't just delete the blog. I guess because I know that sooner or later, I'll get back to it. More likely later rather than sooner... because that's just how I do things.

So I've been having an issue with Netflix. I can't seem to update my movie queue, and it's getting on my nerves. See, the icon button won't work, and I don't know why, and the next movie I have coming is Superman Returns and for whatever reason, I'm just NOT feeling it.

SIGH

I know, what an exciting life I lead, right?

There have been some excitement 'round these here parts, actually. Nothing earth shattering, but, you know, important to me.

The case I have with the Division of Child Support *heretofore refferred to as DCS* has finally been opened. They gave me a call last week to get some more info from me and to let me know that they were opening the case. I know that the ex, Arial, is going to be less than thrilled when he gets served, but what did he think was going to happen? I told him that I filed, and his response was "Why??"

*snort*

Why indeed.

He then asked me if the reason I filed was because I believed that he wasn't going to pay support, and my thought was, 'well, HAVE you? Not so much!' but of course I didn't say that but something else rather more diplomatic. And the subject was then changed.

Arial treats support as optional, really. When the children came back to me, he informed me that he would "pay what he could, when he could, but not to expect too much". As far as visitation, he said that he would have them "when he could".

*double snort*

Ok.

If you say so.

And that, my friends, is what DCS is for.

Other than that, things have been quiet here. At least on my end. My husband's ex has been... combative... lately. She and he have gotten into it a few times, which is unusual. She has officially kicked Bryan out, and he lives with us full time. She hasn't seen him in about two months, and hasn't really tried. She called for him last nite, but he wasn't home, and she wanted him to call her back when he got in. We relayed the message but Bryan didn't seem overly interested in calling her... evidanced by the fact that he DIDN'T.

He turned sixteen on the third, and she didn't call that day or evening, either. When she called for him last nite, she mentioned to The Man that she "didn't get a call from Bryan on his birthday". I'm sorry, did I miss something? Isn't it the parent's job... to call their own kid...on their birthday? Isn't that how it works...? Correct me if I'm wrong...

As for Bryan, well, he is getting new clothes and a bus/trolley combo pass for his b-day. I mean, this weekend. I gave him some cash to spend on his actual b-day, and we had a cake and everything. He mostly spent it with his friends, which is pretty typical, I think, for a teenager. I know that I pretty much spent every b-day from fourteen on with my friends... you know, because my parents were just Soooo Laaaame.... except for the cool gifts they got me, of course.... haha

Well, I am getting bored of typing and actually, I need to shower.

Later, all.
