Don't Do This, Even Though I Did

And that would be taking pictures of yourself, while driving. I really don't recommend it!

Drving 003

Although, you gotta admit, I make it look both easy, AND good!

So anyway, today The Man has to take the car into the shop to get the brakes pads replaced, and probably the rotors, too. Let's be honest... it was a problem that should have been taken care of awhile ago and we... didn't.

There are compelling reasons, but I won't bore you with the details.

What the hell... that's why you're here, right? For the details! Mundane is not mundane, I think, when it's not your life we're talking about.

Ok. So it's not big secret that my husband, with his current employment, makes a good living. He earns a decent wage. And no, he doesn't change jobs a lot...the last job he had was with the Marine Corp, something like 21 years ago or so... and he did do a few months stint with Mrs. Fields Cookies and a carpet cleaning place after he got out of the Corp, but that was to hold him and his wife (now ex-wife, no, we're not polygamists *although if you are, I have no issue with that whatsoever, I'm what you call non-discriminatory, just cause it doesn't work for me and all that kinda type thing*) over until he was through the hiring process of his current job.

Anyway, so, the point is, (bear with me, this IS going where it's supposed to go) he makes a good living. And if you were to see his paper (meaning paystubs and such), you would think, well, Jenna, why are you complaining about money all the time? Clearly The Man makes a good living! And you would be right. Except, keep looking, and you will see, all the deductions and things that they take out. And keep on looking and see the Union Dues, and such and medical insurance, which we pay a mint for, but we have to have it... and after you do all that, consider that we live in one of the most expensive areas in the US. San Diego is gorgeous, but we do pay for the privilege of living here. Dude, we pay A LOT.

So given that, and the fact that we have five kids who live with us, and anyone who has kids can attest to the fact that they're not exactly cheap commodities... and then take into account that the other parents of said kids are not really contributing to the support of their offspring (we're all over that, no worries, just a matter of time) and then remember that I don't hold down a job that comes with a paycheck that I can deposit into my account, and that right there will tell you why we are... not broke...?  Just, TIGHT.

Financially speaking.

So we live on a tight budget. Not like, we can never go on a date (we manage a monthly date, two if we're lucky) but everything has to be budgeted in, just so.

Thus, the brake pads? Well, we had to get the car registered, and that was 200 buckaroos, and that was when the pads JUST STARTED making that *screeeeeeee sound. So we had to wait two weeks for the next payday, which would be THIS payday, to get them fixed.  And because we had to wait, we (most likely) have to get the rotors fixed, too. But keep your fingers crossed, kids, we might get lucky and just have to replace the pads, which is a good deal less cheaper. Not holding my breath... just hoping!

But dude, I'm just glad that this happened to be a better-than-usual paycheck and we CAN get the rotors fixed, if need be.

And I was still able to get Heroes Season 2 on DVD.

Which, by the way, is not as good as the first season but I hear tell that Season 3 is supposed to be better than Season 2, but that is what they call "we'll just have to wait and see" type thing.

Anyway, so The Man is off and running that errand, and I'm at home, doing this.

And that is what I am going to call The End. More later, I am sure... isn't there always?

Later!

You make it look AMAZING my dear.. as always:) You make a lot of things look amazing.. lol.
As for the rotor/pad thing, I will cross my fingers for ya, as chances are, you probably didn't do as much damage as you THINK in 2 weeks. (yes, I am proud to say, I DO know quite a bit about cars and fixing them:)
But, either way, I'm crossing my fingers. ONE MORE MONTH CHICA! i love you:)
